  • Diablo II Preview Pamphlet... (12/30)

It seems that the StarCraft BattleChest contains a nice pamphlet that serves as a sort of mini-preview for the game.  You can click here to get a look at the pamphlet, and anyone who picks up a StarCraft BattleChest will get a copy.

Games of the Moment have awarded Blizzard with the #1 ranking due to their commitment to making a top quality product when it comes to games.  Check out the list to see the best and worst.

  • Diablo II's Progression. (12/28)

Well, we're back from the long Christmas break, and ready to report the news once more.  CaptainSmack, WebMaster of The Graveyard, has written a documentary article that covers the evolution of Diablo II from the first glimpse of screenshots to the latest info and additions.  Give his article a read by clicking here.

  • Merry Christmas! (12/24)

I thought I would wish everyone a merry Christmas, from this site's viewers to the other Diablo II Community WebMasters.  Check this pic from the Unofficial Diablo II Site for a dose of holiday humor.

  • Diablo II trailer on the Brood War CD. (12/23)

I recently got wind that the Brood War CD has a Diablo II trailer on it.  This trailer is the same as the most recent one (check our Downloads section) except that it has improved sound and a few modified graphics.  As soon as the new trailer is available to me, I will put it in our Downloads section.

The guys at the Graveyard have created an audio Diablo Guide which you can hear at their site.  Be sure to offer up feedback on the guide as well.

  • Gamespot's Designer Diary is up! (12/21)

Apparently, we won't have to wait until tomorrow after all, as Gamespot's Designer Diary is posted right now.  This diary covers the audio and musical aspects of the game and includes two unreleased tracks of music by Blizzard's Mark Uelmen.

There was an exclusive interview with the folks at Gamespot over at Tristram.Org, it was full of info for Diablo II fanatics.  It also mentions that tomorrow's Designer Diary will probably be about sound in the game.

  • Happy Holidays Everyone! (12/18)

We here at ShadowSpiral Diablo II want to wish everyone a merry Xmas and happy holidays.  Check out Blizzard's Official Diablo II site for even more holiday cheer, it's sure to bring a smile or two.

  • Almost Forgot... (12/18)

Almost forget to give everyone a chance to see the chat log from yesterday's WebMaster Chat.  Click here to see the chat log, or you can download it as a text file in our Downloads section.

  • Info Galore. (12/17)

Well, we've just had the Diablo II WebMaster's Chat and I must say it was very informative.  For everyone's information, Diablo II is currently about 60% complete, with Act II finished and Act III well under way.  Check out the Diablo 2 Info section and the character sections for the updated info.  I also wanted to take the chance to dispel a couple of misconceptions that some people may have:

    1.  The pics of the Necromancer are not in the final form, the Necromancer is still subject to graphical change.
    2.  The new menu bar displayed in recent pics is a temporary one, the menu bar will be going through a lot of changes in later builds of Diablo II.
    3.  Reading the newsgroups, I feel I must state that Diablo II will not require 3dfx to run in any way.

We would also like to announce that Blizzard has released an official list of the 3dfx Features that will be found in Diablo II.

  • More Screenshots! (12/16)

We've collected four more screenshots for you, including another of the Necromancer.  This time the quality is a bit better, so you can tell more about him.  See if he measures up to expectations.

It's almost time for the Diablo II WebMaster's chat, hosted by the folks at Blizzard.  The chat will be on the 17th, and should be a portentous release of information for us here at ShadowSpiral Diablo II.  Expect to see our Diablo 2 Info section burgeon with all the new stuff.

  • StarCraft: Brood War Goes Gold! (12/15)

While we normally don't announce news of other games, this deserves an announcement because it is such a great expansion to an already awesome Blizzard title.  It also means that Blizzard may be devoting more of their time to Diablo II, which means more news for us.  Look for Brood War on store shelves by the end of the week.

  • Camelot Systems' HellDraft Released. (12/13)

Camelot Systems has uploaded the full version of HellDraft onto their site, it is available for download.  For those of you who don't know, HellDraft allows you to patch the Diablo MPQ file with your own information and graphics, making it easy to create custom items or other such things.

Looks like this weekend is the time for previews, for another has been released by Gamepen.  This preview has even more great information as the newest build of Diablo II is explored.  A new, as of yet unheard of spell is also mentioned.  It is called Meteor Swarm, and I am assuming that it is a Sorceress spell.

  • PC.IGN.COM Preview... (12/12)

PC.IGN.COM has given us yet another preview with more information.  Be sure to check this preview, it is chock full of new stuff for serious Diablo II fanatics.  We've also updated our Diablo 2 Info Section again.

Yes, it has been confirmed, Screenshot #61 does indeed depict the Necromancer.  In light of this information, we've updated the picture's caption.  Check out the pic and its new caption.  Also, the menu bar has been said to be in the works, and may not look the same in later builds.

Boy. this new build of Diablo II has everyone in a stir.  Recently Gamecenter has followed the trend by releasing their own preview.  This preview also announces another of the Necromancer's spells, it has been placed in that character's Section.  Gamecenter also seems to believe that our Screenshot #61 is also one of the Necomancer.  Lastly, a new piece of info was placed into the Diablo 2 Info Section.

  • The Necromancer Debate. (12/11)

The debate concerning Screenshot #61 rages on.  For those of you who haven't heard, there is a debate that the figure featured on the bulding's steps is indeed the Necromancer.  But the icon shown in the menu bar is an Amazon skill (True Aim, I believe), and the shot is quite blurry.  Could this be the first ever pic of the Necromancer?  Examine the pic and email us if you have an opinion you'd like to express.

  • The Screenshot from the Preview... (12/10)

Here are the screenshots from Gamespot's latest preview of Diablo II.  Look closely at how the menu bar at the bottom of the screen has been redone in this build, I wonder what some of the new functions are?  I also noticed the renderings, they are beautifully done.

Gamespot has just opened up a new preview of Diablo II.  This preview is done over the newest build of Diablo II and has tons of info and a few screenshots as well.  This one is a must-read!

  • InQuest Diablo II Article. (12/7)

InQuest, a magazine devoted to CCG's (Collectable Card Games) like Magic: The Gathering and Star Trek recently ran an article about Diablo II.  As soon as I get a copy of the magazine I'll post more detailed info.  Of note in the article was another prediction of the estimated release date and price for Diablo II, this one in June ‘99 at around $50.00 retail.

The new poll for December is up, so please feel free to vote.  This month's poll is about the new things in Diablo II and about which one you like best.

  • PC.IGN.COM Bill Roper Interview. (12/5)

PC.IGN.COM recently had an interview with Blizzard's Bill Roper, discussing Diablo II.  The interview released some amazing insights, and I suggest that you go and look at the interview right now!

  • HellDraft Viewer for Diablo. (12/4)

Camelot Systems is almost ready to release HellDraft for Diablo.  This prodram allows users to view, patch, and save pictures and data from the MPQ file stored on the Diablo CD.  A public beta should be available either today or tomorrow.

  • Gamespot UK's Baldur's Gate Preview... (12/2)

A recent preview by Gamespot UK compares Blizzard's Diablo with Interplay's upcoming CRPG Baldur's Gate.  I thought the part about Diablo starting an "RPG Rrenaissance" was particularly well said.

We have archived Novermber's News in the News Archive section, which has been newly revamped itself.  We expect to have another poll up by tomorrow as well.  For all those who stopped in on the 1st and didn't see anything new we apologize, a scheduling conflict arose and we didn't get the site updated in time, but everything's fine now.
