  • BGC Editorial. (11/26)

The BGC has recently done an editorial named "Is Blizzard Really Listening?"  They say that the editorial may sound a little confrontational, but be assured it isn't meant that way.  It is about the lack of Blizzard's release of info in the face of their upcoming Diablo II game.

  • Blizzard Action Figures... (11/23)

Blizzard reports that its action figures are hitting the retail shelves, and have been sold out in many a store even now.  With the purchase of selected Blizzard games, buyers get a free, limit-edition Terran Marine Action Figure.

  • Cendent Software Sold. (11/20)

Cendent has announced their intention to sell Cendent Software to the Paris-based Havas SA.  This sell will not effect the releases of Diablo II, StarCraft: Brood War, or Warcraft II Platinum Edition.  This part of Cendent is going at the tune of approximately one billion dollars.

  • Screenshots Released... (11/18)

Eight new screenshots were released by Blizzard today, but because of some digging, we were able to archive the pictures to our Pics Section before their official release.  Anyway, the pics released are listed here for convenience:

The other part of the last Designer Diary has been posted.  It starts from Page One, and continues the interview with Max Schaefer about level design.  Its a great read from one of the inside minds working on Diablo II.

The Rumor Mill is spinning wildly as reports of a huge news release drift in on the winds.  Over at the Graveyard we hear that a semi-confirmed report of a major breakthrough in Diablo II news is in the works.  Myself, I keep hoping it's info on the Necromancer and Barbarian, but it could be anything.  Keep your eyes peeled through this two-week stretch.

ShadowSpiral Diablo II is undergoing a massive update to its layout and format.  We ask you bear with us as we go through these changes, and to report any errors or things you don't like to us.  You can e-mail us at d2site@hotmail.com or by clicking the name of the WebMaster or any of the other ShadowSpiral Site Masters.

  • E3 Preview Article. (11/8)

The Diablo 2 Guide has posted an article by a lucky gamer who was able to play a build of Diablo II at E3.  This article covers the game from a player's standpoint and is a great read.  Check it out here.

  • Max Schaefer at DiabloII.net... (11/7)

On the forum at the Unoffical Diablo II Site there is a post by Max Schaefer about cheating in Diablo II.  He states that there will be a cheat-free Internet environment for those to play, as well as other multiplayer options like network and modem.  He states that Battle.Net characters will be stored in a different place from the rest (server side), and as such will not be compatible with other stored characters on the user's hard drive.  Read the post yourself here.

A site named Game Dealer.com came up with a release date and requirements for Diablo II.  These are not endorsed by Blizzard as Diablo II's true release date and requirements haven't even been released yet.  For posterity's sake, here are the spec's that this site put up:

    Ram: 32 Megs
    Processor: 200mhz
    4x CD-ROM

Remember that these are not the true requirements for the game, the actual date and list of requirements will be issued by Blizzard at a later date.  As soon as they do it will be posted here.

We have made a write-up about the advancement of Diablo II as the year has progressed, it covers some points on the creation and updating of the game as a whole, as well as our expectations for it.  You can read the article by clicking here, an alternate non-HTML version is available from our Downloads section.

  • Nine New Screenshots and a New Section added! (11/4)

Blizzard just released nine new Pics from their Official Diablo II Site, which we have already diligently archived here.  We also added a section for animated .gif's, these three showing the Amazon, Paladin, and Sorceress in action at game size.

Ah, Yegg's Tavern isn't closing its seasoned doors quite yet.  Apparently the poll is part of an ongoing saga to rescue the beleaguered tavern from the forces of darkness.  Keep checking it out for updates on their conflict.

GameSpot's Diablo II Designer Diaries have been updated with an entry by Max Schaefer, co-founder of Blizzard North and director of backgrounds for Diablo II.  This entry contains a little info about the level-design process, as well as 4 Pics that show a piece of a level under construction from concept to finish.

We've gotten ahold of two new sketches for you to enjoy, one of the Barbarian and one of the Paladin (they came from Yegg's Tavern's Poll pictures).  They've been placed in the Pics section and are here for you to see:

There is a poll at Yegg's Tavern about the Paladin and Barbarian to liven up the news about the eminent closing of their site.  Vote on the poll to see which hero can save them.
