Javelin and Spear Skills

This is the Amazon´s Javelin and Spear skills tree.  All these skills will require you to have an equipped Spear or Javelin.  It is unfortunately unknown which skills will require which weapon, as some of them would appear to only work with a held spear while other augment a thrown javelin.  It could also be that these skills work with either weapon, as we learn more it will be put here for your use.

This skill tree is roughly divided into three types of skill power, those skills that imbue your weapon with the power of lightning, those that imbue your weapon with the power of poison, and those that grant an altered way to attack the target.  Unlike the Bow and Crossbow skill tree this tree is not nearly divided into these three catagories, and the abilities are strewn throughout the tree.  This may change in later builds.

Jab (Req: Clvl 1) The Jab skill allows you to make several quick strikes with an eqipped spear with each strile causing less damage than a normal, basic attack.  The Jab skill will probably be good for dispatching less-powerful enemies, and may be able to sweep through an adjacent area.

Power Strike (Req: Cvl 5, Jab) The Power Strike grants a limited form of lightning to a spear or javelin, allowing the Amazon to add lightning damage to a strike.  A useful skill, but apt to be useless against creatures with a lightning resistance.

Poison Javelin (Req: Clvl 5) The Poison Javelin adds the power of poison at a thrown javelin, giving it the ability to poison enemies that it hits.  The Poison javelin has a beautiful trail of poison that follows it when thrown, this trail can also poison creatuires.

Impale (Req: Clvl 10, Jab) This skill allows the Amazon to do a vicious attack at triple her normal damage, but comes with its own risks.  There is a small chance, which will probably decrease with added skill points, that the Amazon´s spear will break when this skill is used.

Lightning Bolt (Req: Clvl 10, Poison Javelin) This skill, which isn´t what you might think, imbues a thrown javelin with the power of lightning magic.  The javelin leaves a trail of lightning magic, which might also do damage, and also does a good deal of extra damage to the target as well.

Charged Strike (Req: Clvl 15, Charged Strike, Lightning Bolt) This skill adds a greater amount of lightning magic to a spear hit, increasing the damage of the strike.  Like its other lightning-based skills, the Charged Strike power diminishes when facing an enemy with lightning resistance.

Plague Javelin (Req: Clvl 15, Poison Javelin, Lightning Bolt) The Plague Javelin creates a trail of poison when thrown, and also expodes into a poison-based, Nova-like effect when it strikes the enemy.  This skill looks to be quite powerful and can cover a large area, poisoning enemies in that area.

Fend (Req: Clvl 20, Jab, Impale) The Fend skill allows the Amazon to make a whirling strike with a spear attack, deflecting missles like arrows, knives, or hurled javelings back at her attackers.  The Fend skill could definately come in handy both as an attack and a defense.

Lightning Strike (Req: Clvl 25, Power Strike, Charged Strike, Lightning Bolt) The Lightning Strike skill enables the Amazon to suffuse a spear with Lightning´s power in a much more powerful means than any of her previous lightning-bases spear skills.  It is unknown what the exact effect of Lightning strike is or looks like in play.

Zeus Bolt (Req: Clvl 25, Poison Javelin, Lightning Bolt, Plague Javelin) The powerful Zeus Bolt causes a hurled javelin to call forth a lightning bolt from the heavens when it strikes a target.  This lightning bolt will do a huge amount of damage to an already strong javelin attack at this level.
