Fire Spells

FireboltWarmthInfernoBlazeFireballFirewallEnchantMeteorFire MasteryHydraThe Fire Spells skill tree consists of spells that draw their power from the element of fire.  Many of these spells will be recognized by Diablo veterans as spells once possessed by the original Sorcerer character.  However, the Sorceressīs retinue of spells is far more impressive.

All the skills in this tree are active, except for its one mastery.  The tree is roughly divided into three rows of spells.  The left row consists of spells that are area-affect spells, covering small to large areas.  The middle row has the projectile spells, spells that conjure flames and send them at the enemy.  The right tow contains special spells that effect the Sorceress in different ways than any other spell.  The fire skill tree is both versatile but specialized, and enemies with a resistance to fire may be hard to kill with these spells.

Firebolt (Req: Clvl 1)
The Firebolt spell conjures a small orb of flame and sends it streaking towards the target, The Firebolt explodes upon impact with its target, doing a small amount of damage.  This skill will use a minimal amount of mana as well.

Warmth (Req: Clvl 1)
The Warmth spell increases the Sorceressīs mana recovery rate, allowing her to regenerate mana at an increased rate.  It is unknown if this skill is passive, but it is expected to be due to its nature.

Fire Mastery (Req: Clvl 1)
This passive skill improves the Sorceressīs use of fire spells by reducing their mana cost and increasing their effectiveness.  Being passve, the skill is always active when points are placed into it.

Inferno (Req: Clvl 5)
Most Diablo players will recognize Inferno right away.  The difference ends there, however, as Diablo IIīs Inferno has changed.  It now shoots out a jet of flames as long as you have the mouse button pressed, acting like a flamethrower.

Blaze (Req: Clvl 10, Inferno)
One of the most unique spells, Blaze creates a Firewall-like effect that follows the Sorceress in her movements, allowing her to walk and weave a wall of flames in her wake.  It could have many uses in the game.

Fireball (Req: Clvl 10, Firebolt)
Another old standby, the Fireball has changed but little between the two games.  The new Fireball has a limited range, exploding about halfway across the screen and not just when it hits and obstacle.

Firewall (Req: Clvl 15. Inferno, Blaze)
Firewall brings into existence a large wall of flames that damage enemies who try to venture through it.  The Firewall is very versatile and can be used to create traps and seal off rooms to other monsters.

Enchant (Req: Clvl 15, Warmth, Firebolt, Fireball, an eqipped sword)
The Enchant spell causes a sword equipped by the Sorceress to burst into magical flames, adding fire damage to any creatures the Sorceress hits.  This improves the Sorceressīs odds in a melee combat substantially.

Meteor (Req: Clvl 20, Firebolt, Fireball)
Definately one of the most dramatic spells, Meteor actually culls a meteor from the heavens, sending it crashing down onto the battle field in a burst of damage flames.  The Meteor spell has sufficient power to lay a place bare of enemies.

Hydra (Req: Clvl 25, Warmth, Enchant, Firebolt, Firevall)
Though what it does is mostly unknown, the Hydra spells shares an icon with the original Diablo spell Guardian.  It will probably have a similar function, but with more power to denote it as the pinnacle of the fire spells skill tree.
