Cold Spells

Ice BoltFrozen ArmorFrost NovaShiver ArmorUnknownGlacial SpikeBlizzardIce StormCold MasteryChill BloodThis skill tree sets the Sorceress apart from her Diablo counterpart, the original Sorcerer.  These are her Cold Spells, spells that use the elemental power of ice to freeze and wound her enemies.  They are some of the most useful spells in the game.

All the spells but one in this tree are active skills that must be selected and require an expenditure of mana to be used.  The tree has a lack of solid arrangement and may be changed in the near future.  In the left row are cold spells that are basically area-based, damaging in a wide range.  The middle row contains her projectile skills, and also a skill that acts as a kind of armor.  The right row contains skills that effect the enemy in a negative way, except for the first skill which effects the Sorceress herself.  Also, at the very bottom of the tree is a skill that acts as a Mastery for the entire tree.

 

 

 

 

Ice Bolt (Req: Clvl 1)
Comparible to Fire Bolt, the Ice Bolt instead uses the power of ice to do its damage.  Besides damage, the Ice Bolt will also slow the monster with cold making it easier to hit with a follow-up blast.








 

Frozen Armor (Req: Clvl 1)
Frozen Armor creates the a barrier around the Sorceress that can protect her from melee attacks, allowing her to get up close when her magic fails her.  This spell may also do a small amount of damage to the Sorceress when cast.








 

Cold Mastery (Req: Clvl 1)
The Cold Mastery skill is a passive skill, meaning you do not need to select it, it is always in use.  The Cold Mastery improves the Sorceressīs use of her cold magic, reducing the mana cost and raising effectiveness.








 

Frost Nova (Req: Clvl 5)
Frost Nova creares an expanding ring of ice magic that freezes enemies in its wake, damaging them as it passes.  The Frost Nova covers an entire screen and will be a powerful addition to the Sorceressīs arsenal.








 

Shiver Armor (Req: Clvl 5, Ice Bolt)
Shiver Armor is a replacement for Shivers.  It creates a barrier around the Sorceress that freezes and damages enemies that come too close.  It may also have some defensive capabilities as well.








 

Unknown (Was Numbness, Req: Clvl 10, Frozen Armor, Ice Bolt, Shiver Armor)
This skill has been changed, but was formerly Numbness.  There are no known details on what this skill does now, but Numbness was thought stop creatures from regenerating mana.








 

Glacial Spike (Req: Clvl 15, Ice Bolt, Shiver Armor)
The Glacial Spike creates a sphere of pure ice magic that the Sorceress hurls at her target.  The sphere explodes into a blast of cold, freezing and damaging creatures near the area of the blast.








 

Blizzard (Req: Clvl 20, Frost Nova, Ice Bolt, Shiver Armor, Glacial Spike)
The Blizzard skill calls up an obscuring snowstorm that confuses monsters and also clears the sky of missles that are in flight.  In a fight with enemies who prefer ranged weapons this skill could be highly useful.








 

Chill Blood (Req: Clvl 20, Frozen Armor, Unknown)
In the wake of Numbnessīs removal from this tree, the outcome of Chill Blood is also unknown.  It was previously thought to be an improved version of Numbness, now it may be something completely different.








 

Ice Storm (Req: Clvl 25, Frost Nova, Blizzard, Ice Bolt, Shiver Armor, Glacial Spike)
Definitely the most powerful spell in this tree, the Ice Storm conjures a storm of raining spikes that annihilate enemies that are present on the screen.  The Ice Storm has one of best graphical effects in the game when it is cast.

Skill of the Week

Harkening back to an inquisitional torture, the Iron Maiden curse causes all damage an enemy does to you to be returned to that enemy as well.  Part of the Necromancerīs
Curses, it is a powerful addition to his arsenal.
